Lock Picking Village

Lock picking is the practice of unlocking a lock by manipulating the components of the lock device without the original key.

Although lock-picking can be associated with criminal, it is an essential skill for the legitimate profession of locksmithing, and is also pursued by law-abiding citizens as a useful skill to learn, or simply as a hobby (locksport).

Come learn this skill and try your hand at picking varied types of locks and using different techniques.

The Plan for 2023:

We will have three activity sets in this year’s IoT Village.

1. Training Level: A table with open wifi, 4-5 items setup as a home network. Attendees can attach, lanscan, port scan, and do some basic probing.
2. Challenge Level: A password protected WiFi that attendees have to crack to join that has 4-5 devices with different “flags” for them to find and report.
3. Standalone Hackables: small number of devices that attendees can try to hack. Most of these the attendees will not be allowed to physically interact with.

All Village networks will be 100% sandboxed and not connected to the internet.

Kids just want to have fun! They are also the next generation of hackers. We'll have many fun and educational options to expand their minds. Bring your youngsters and get them involved.
